Ebola outbreak in Congo, 6 infected,4 died


In the northwest Democratic Republic of the Congo, New ebolavirus infection found.

The government of Democratic Republic of Congo announced on 1st June that a new Ebola virus disease has occurred. The outbreak occurs in the Wangata health zone, Mbandaka, in Equateur province. The country is already suffered from COVID-19 infection.

According to the Congo government, there are 6 Ebola positive cases. Of the 6 cases, 4 people died and 2 people are still alive. The infection is from the Ebola virus is confirmed at labs. The government thinks that the number of infected people will rise because of the activity of the infected people.

WHO said, The COVID-19 is not the only health threat all over the world. Team of the WHO is monitoring the medical emergency very closely.


This is the 11th outbreak of the Ebola virus since 1976 when the virus is found in Congo.
But this is a challenging time for the country because the country already suffers with world largest pandemic COVID-19 and the dangerous Ebola virus.

According to the investigation the new Ebola outbreak comes from an animal reservoir. Those type os reservoirs are scattered all over the country.
