Google bans employees from using this video chat app
NEW DELHI: After NASA and space exploration company SpaceX,its now google decided to ban its employees from using Zoom app.During lockdown when the company employees doing work from home.So,the professionals are using apps like Zoom.The teleconferencing app has seen its popularity go through the charts but comes with its fair share of privacy concerns.According to source google sent a mail to all its employees about banning this app.Interesting fact is that google does have its own Zoom competitor,Meet,which is a part of G-Suite apps.
Google spokesperson Jose Castaneda told news that the company has had a policy of not allowing employees to use 'unproven apps' for work."Recently,our security team informed employees using zoom desktop client that it will no longer run on run on corporate computers as it does not meet our security standards for apps used by our employees.
Employees who use the app to stay in touch with family and friends can continue to do so through a web browser or via mobile", Catenada told news.
Elon Musk's company SpaceX has also told its employee not to use zoom.This app has an privacy and security issue.
Online reports has suggested that Zoom does have privacy and security concerns.Lack of end-to-end encryption has been a big concerns.Zoom CEO Eric S Yuan said that the company is taking the necessary steps to meet the challenges.The company for the next 90 days will not launch any new features but instead work on security and privacy issues.
